F.C.T residents react to the proposed Buhari’s “Change Begins with Me” campaign

In reactions to the actions of the Buhari led administration, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) residents have expressed mixed feelings towards his proposed “Change Begins with Me” campaign.

The residents voiced their feelings in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in some parts of the FCT.
Mubarak Isah, an FCT resident said the proposed campaign was a reproduction of the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) initiated by the Buhari-led military administration in 1983.
“Buhari thinks he is still a Head of State in the military regime. His aim is to achieve the same goal as the WAI in 1983.
“To enforce laws, violate human rights and intimidate timid Nigerians. We, the citizens, must take a second hard look at the questionable actions of the current administration”, he noted.
Emeka Nwosu, another resident of the FCT said he saw the proposed campaign as a right move by Buhari which would go a long way in enlightening and educating Nigerians.
“Buhari promised us the change we needed if we voted him, change is not easy but I believe that this campaign would trigger positive change that would boost Nigeria’s image”.
According to Nwosu, the President was on the right track and needed encouragement which he urged Nigerians to provide instead of unwarranted criticism.
Another resident of the FCT, David Ajiboye said he was at a fix on what the proposed campaign would actualize but rather urged Nigerians not to discredit actions of President.
“Corruption has done lots of destruction to the Nigerian economy and nobody is happy with the way it has spread to every aspect of the Nigerian civilization at large.
“Most Nigerians would massively support any ploy to fight corruption and boost the economy but I hope it is not just another phase of the War Against Indiscipline by Buhari.
“I can’t really predict the outcome of the “Change Begins with Me” campaign but with the current level of happenings, I think it’ll do more good than harm”, Ajiboye said.
Ajiboye therefore called on Nigerians to act reasonably in criticizing any action or policy laid down by the Buhari administration, he noted, would do more harm than the proposed good.
